If you think law is boring, know that there is legitimately a court case called High Tech Gays v. DISCO.

Texas judge rules against lesbian moms and kids -

gaywrites:

District Judge John Roach Jr., of Collin County, Texas, ruled last week that a lesbian mother cannot live with her partner of three years and maintain custody of her children.

The judge invoked a “morality clause” when he said that Page Price and Carolyn Compton are not qualified to live in a house with children together. Per his ruling, anyone not related by “blood or marriage” is forbidden to be in Compton’s home after 9pm when the children are home. Because marriage equality is illegal in Texas, Price is essentially kicked out.

“Our children are all happy and well-adjusted,” Price wrote on a Facebook post announcing the decision. “By his enforcement, being that we cannot marry in this state, I have been ordered to move out of my home.”

Compton’s divorce from her ex-husband was finalized in 2011, though the case was reopened in April following a custody dispute, reports theVoice.

Price believes the inclusion of the “morality clause” in Compton’s initial divorce paperwork was prompted by the judge’s disapproval of Compton’s “lifestyle.” Price also notes that Compton’s ex-husband rarely sees his two children, and in 2011 was charged with stalking his ex-wife.

I don’t see much morality in this at all. This couple could very well appeal this decision and win, and I hope they do.

Anonymous asked: i think it's so cool that you're using your awesome mind and big heart to make a difference in the world. i'm glad you're going to law school. i also look up to you for being brave and moving somewhere new to get your education.

This is the sweetest message I’ve gotten recently.

I’m really humbled by the fact that you think so highly of me (since I’m actually a grouchy, seemingly heartless person in RL) and I can only hope that I can do justice to all of your kind words. I’m only where I am now because everyone here in the fandom has inspired me with their strength, wit, and compassion. You guys deserve much more than the world gives you right now and I hope I can help change things for the better for you, in whatever way I can.

Do I play this game as a girl because I like my gender represented in video games or do I play as a guy because I also want to marry a girl in-game?
